1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains in detail how Ghost Diary ("the App") collects, uses, stores, and protects information provided by its users. By accessing or using Ghost Diary, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and consent to the collection and use of your information as described herein.
2. Information We Collect
- Authentication (Firebase Auth): Your email and password are securely encrypted and stored by Firebase. Used for verification and account management.
- The Crypt (Local Storage): All entries are stored exclusively on your local device. Ghost Diary does not access or store these on cloud servers.
- Whispers (Cloud Storage): Content shared publicly is stored on Firebase Firestore and associated with your nickname.
- Interactions: We collect data on Likes, Reports, and Blocks to maintain community safety.
3. Analytics and Performance Tracking
We utilize Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to enhance performance:
- Usage Data: Anonymous metrics like screen views and feature interaction.
- Crash Reports: Diagnostic logs (device model, OS version) to assist in bug fixes.
4. User-Generated Content (UGC) & Safety
Users can Report harmful content and Block other users. We reserve the right to remove content in "Whispers" that violates our community standards.
5. Account Management and Data Deletion
- In-App Deletion: Users can permanently delete their account and cloud data via "More > Account".
- Local Data: To clear "The Crypt", you must manually delete app data or uninstall the App. Ghost Diary does not have remote access to your local storage.
- Retention: Cloud data is deleted immediately upon account deletion, unless legal retention is required.
6. Third-Party Services
- Google AdMob: Provides advertisements and may collect device identifiers (AAID/IDFA) for personalized ads.
- Firebase Services: Provides infrastructure, database storage, and monitoring tools.
7. Data Security and Risks
We employ industry-standard safeguards, but no system is 100% secure. Users provide information at their own risk and are responsible for account credential confidentiality.
8. Children’s Privacy
Ghost Diary is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from users under this age.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may revise this policy periodically. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
